THE EUROPEAN NETWORK OF

OLDER-VOLUNTEER ORGANISATIONS

Actively promoting volunteering by older people across Europe

WHO ARE WE?

ENOVO, formed in 2005, is a formally constituted section of Volonteurope.

The secretariat is based in London and is provided by RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Programme), a part of CSV (Community Service Volunteers). A major part of our initial funding is being provided by Espace 3A, France. Both they and RSVP are founder members of ENOVO.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT

We believe we are the only organisation in Europe to help promote opportunities for the older volunteer.

We will achieve this by working closely with any volunteering organisation in Europe (and indeed outside of Europe also) who wishes to seek opportunities for its own older volunteers and also wants to have closer ties with other European organisations to learn from their experiences.

ENOVO will provide the “umbrella” for all these Groups, so that you can form partnerships, promote the benefits for the volunteers themselves, and develop new opportunities for older volunteers.

ENOVO’S AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

  • Promote good practice by older volunteers
  • Link in partnership with other volunteering organisations
  • Promote the benefits of volunteering to the volunteers themselves
  • Develop new opportunities for older volunteers
  • Respond to social changes by developing new volunteering
  • Open up new funding streams for older volunteers
  • Combat ageism in volunteering organisations across Europe
  • Develop tools for measuring impact of older volunteering effort
  • Develop solidarity of older volunteers across Europe
